Welcome

Gold Mountain® Homeowners Association
Gold Mountain Community Services District

DISCOVER GOLD MOUNTAIN

A magnificent real estate resort development sits nestled in rolling pine trees overlooking the Mohawk Valley and the Feather River Gorge.  It’s the kind of place where people pause in the middle of a round of golf or an afternoon hike, and wonder at the spectacular beauty of this Lost Sierra secret.

Gold Mountain, a picturesque 400-lot gated community, is known for its large lots and spectacular views. Just 50 minutes north of Truckee and an hour northwest of Reno, Gold Mountain is situated between the towns of Graeagle and Portola.  It offers residents proximity to the many recreational opportunities available in the Plumas region.  Golf, hiking, snowmobiling, water sports, fishing, cross country skiing, horseback riding…. It’s all here, and more.  Most importantly, Gold Mountain is a community with friendly people from diverse backgrounds.
Our prospering community is well-maintained and continues to grow.
  • The Gold Mountain Community Services District, a separately governed California special district, produces high quality water in adequate amounts from deep granite wells to provide for all domestic needs and a growing community fire hydrant system.
  • Both the homeowners association and community services district are financially strong.
  • The HOA has hi-speed internet available through Plumas Sierra Telecommunications thanks to our fiber-optic network installation.
Nakoma Golf Resort, one of five privately owned area golf courses, winds throughout the Gold Mountain community. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Nakoma Clubhouse plays home to a wide range of resort activities. Enjoy pampering in their full-treatment day-spa, lunch or dinner at the highly regarded Wig Wam Room restaurant, or grab a glass of wine and enjoy the view from the magnificent valley-view deck.  The Lodge at Nakoma, a 42-room hotel, opened in 2016 and the Altitude Recreation Center opened in 2017.
